José graduated in Portugal at Fernando Pessoa University in 2006. Since early he developed an interest in Oral Surgery and Implants which lead him to specialise in that field at I.S.C.S – Norte in Portugal.

He is a member of the International Team for Implantology regularly attending their meetings and congresses. He can provide implant treatments, LASER treatments, minimally invasive surgery to treat gum recession (Pinhole Surgery), Lumineers (minimally invasive veneers) and if you are a nervous patient sedation will be provided.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are an aesthetic permanent tooth replacement solution to damaged or missing teeth. The implant acts as the root of the missing tooth and a porcelain crown is then permanently secured to the implant. They can be used to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth.

BONE GRAFT

Bone grafts are often used to add bone following a tooth extraction or before placing dental implants. Bone is needed for dental implants for support and proper integration as the titanium implant will fuse with bone after time.

PINHOLE SURGERY

Gum grafts are often used to help with gum recessions that can be caused by various dental conditions, such as periodontal disease. Dr Fontes uses an advanced, minimally invasive technique called Pinhole surgery.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED PROSTHETIC

An implant supported prosthetic is a denture that is securely fastened to four to six dental implants. The prosthetic can then be removed with slight pressure with the help of the patient's fingers. Using implants can improve support, stability and retention. You won't need to worry about your dentures falling out!

TOOTH EXTRACTION

Tooth extractions are often required due to dental decay, periodontal disease or dental trauma and the tooth can not be restored. Bone grafts may be required if a dental implant is to be placed. Wisdom teeth can sometimes be impacted (unable to grow normally) and may require a surgical extraction.

DENTAL VENEERS

Dental veneers are a thin layer of porcelain that is placed over the natural tooth. It can be used to improve the aesthetics of a single tooth or for a smile makeover. Dr Fontes offers Lumineers which are minimally invasive compared to conventional veneers.
